It’s an adrenaline-fuelled reintroduction to the series that tests how well you remember the combat, as well as providing a few new tricks. It’s also the start of one of the new side-story villain threads that are optional, and while those don’t offer anything overly new in terms of gameplay, they do add valuable extra scraps of story. They flesh out these villains, allowing fully formed characters to emerge where once they were merely one-and-done boss battle appearances.

While the first Spider-Man title launched on PS4 and was then remastered for the PS5, Spider-Man Miles Morales was released across both simultaneously. Moving forward, it’s evident Insomniac is ready to shift into a new gear focusing solely on Sony’s latest hardware. This setup provides a solid 1080p gaming experience at 60 FPS with medium graphics settings, balancing visual quality and performance. Facing multiple iconic villains like Venom, Kraven the Hunter, and Lizard, their strength and resolve will be tested as they face these dangerous threats. After watching the latest PlayStation Showcase conference, I have very mixed feelings. On the one hand, Sony showed some really exciting games; on the other, their release dates are either distant, or totally unspecified. There will be no shortage of games to play in January, but don’t count on any spectacular launches.

Though the movement system is built upon the foundations from the previous installments, there are some new features as well. One of them is the ability to glide – after launching themselves into the air, Peter and Miles can cover long distances without needing to keep using their webs. They can use aerodynamic tunnels scattered throughout New York to do so. PlayStation detailed the game’s system requirements on PC in a trailer and accompanying blog post. In addition to features like ray tracing and ultrawide monitor support, the PC version will also allow integrated use of the PS5’s DualSense controllers.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

The release date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was announced at Summer Game Fest 2023 by Insomniac Games. The webslinger’s next adventure arrives on PlayStation 5 on October 20, 2023. As we get closer to the game’s launch, more and more details are releasing and we now know quite a bit about the game. These settings will let you play Spider-Man 2 at 1440p which is the sweet spot between HD and 4K where everything looks really sharp but your computer doesn’t have to work too hard.

Minimum Requirements (720p @ 30 Fps)

While Spider-Man 3 hasn’t yet been confirmed by Insomniac, though there hasn’t been much news from the company lately, it would be strange for the successful series to not continue with another sequel. It’s likely that the developers are focusing on the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine, and any new Spider-Man title will come much later. The focus on Wolverine could be another contributing factor as to why Spider-Man 2 didn’t get any new story DLC. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be exclusively released on PS5 on October 20, 2023 at midnight, local time. With users able to pre-download the digital game prior to its release, they will be able to play the game as soon as it’s available for play in the PlayStation store. Gameplay-wise, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is very similar to the series’ previous installments.

PC players will get the chance to once again take on the role of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, swinging through the open-world streets of New York City. With enhanced graphics and performance on PC, the game offers a stunning visual experience.

Harry reveals that, on his father Norman Osborn’s insistence, he was cured by Curt Connors via a powerful organic exosuit that physically augments his body. With the exosuit’s powers rapidly developing, Harry helps Peter rescue Tombstone while Mary Jane discovers that Kraven has kidnapped Connors. TG88 Casino to save Connors, but Kraven forcibly turns him back into the Lizard, steals the serum needed to transform him back and mortally wounds Peter. Before Peter can die, the exosuit transfers itself from Harry to Peter’s body, saving him and becoming into Black Spider-Man. After Peter viciously defeats the Hunters with his newly enhanced powers, Kraven develops an interest in hunting Peter personally.

On PS5 in 2023, Spider-Man 2 at least served as an impressive technical showcase for the hardware, and a blockbuster release in a relatively quiet release schedule. On PC in 2025, without those advantages and in a disappointingly shaky state, it’s much more difficult to recommend. Where the first game starred Peter Parker, and its spin-off starred Miles, this one has both. Story missions choose for you, but often swap seamlessly between them as the action demands.

Easily jumping off the screen, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 allows players to take control of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, freely switching between the two on the fly. More is definitely more in this case, as players follow individual storylines and take side missions, some exclusive to each character. They face new challenges, both internally and externally, as they navigate the balance between personal and superhero lives. Both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 have plenty going for them. They both have near-similar gameplay elements while also setting themselves apart, thanks to new changes to the old recipe. Today, we’re comparing everything from the gameplay to the cosmetics to find out which Marvel’s Spider-Man game did it better than the other.

New factions and units, such as flamethrower-wielding cultists that keep you at a distance, flying drones, and hunters who deploy laser grids above your head to limit aerial attacks keep you on your sticky toes. Certain enemies are weak to different types of abilities, such as electric or symbiote attacks, which also adds an enjoyable extra wrinkle to fights. It’s by no means revolutionary stuff, but a welcome added level of complexity that makes you consider which powers – or even which Spider-Man – are best for a given job. The result is a cinematic but messy experience that not only still bears all the same flaws as its predecessor, but in many areas—particularly the storytelling—feels like a step backwards. The ropiness of this PC port is a sad addition to the issues, resulting in a flawed version of an already flawed sequel.
